Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced nursing leader to oversee our state-of-the-art surgical department. The ideal candidate will excel at team development while ensuring exceptional patient outcomes through clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
Core Functions
The successful candidate will drive surgical service excellence through:
Clinical Leadership
* Orchestrate comprehensive perioperative care delivery, encompassing pre-surgical assessment, intraoperative management, and post-operative recovery.
* Champion evidence-based practices and quality initiatives while maintaining rigorous documentation standards.
* Ensure medication safety protocols and controlled substance management align with regulatory requirements.
* Direct specialized nursing functions including scrub, circulating, and recovery roles.
* Oversee adherence to sterile technique and infection prevention protocols.
Operational Management
* Optimize resource utilization through effective staff scheduling, supply management, and budget oversight.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance surgical services and quality metrics.
* Maintain regulatory compliance across accreditation standards.
* Implement risk management strategies and incident reporting processes.
* Monitor department performance indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Development
* Foster a culture of professional growth through mentorship and skill development.
* Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify training opportunities.
* Facilitate effective communication across all surgical service stakeholders.
* Lead change management initiatives while maintaining team engagement.
* Promote a collaborative environment that emphasizes patient safety and clinical excellence.
Required
* Minimum 5 years post-licensure nursing experience.
* 2+ years in leadership or supervisory capacity.
* 3+ years operating room experience.
* Demonstrated expertise in perioperative nursing practices.
* Strong track record of team leadership and development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proficiency with healthcare information systems.
Preferred
* Advanced degree in nursing or healthcare administration.
* Experience with orthopaedic procedures.
