Top Oil is recruiting for a Depot Lead to join out Depot in Kilkenny.
Key Responsibilities:
Main Duties/ Responsibilities:
* Work with a team of drivers to ensure that they are adequately trained and capable of performing their roles. Support with recruitment, training and remuneration while maximizing driver and vehicle utilization
* Monitor and ensure the smooth running of customer depot deliveries
* Support and analyze key performance indicators and operational metrics by focusing on maximizing profit; such as driver utilization, vehicle utilization – Meet with drivers monthly to discuss
* Oversee the customer service experience by monitoring all incoming calls and ensuring that all customer queries are dealt with and resolved in an efficient manner
* Oversee and ensure that all accounts are managed by completing a daily lodgment for depot and yard, entering and applying cash to the correct customer account, entering discounts & credit notes and investigating any discrepancies
* Understanding the drivers stock sheet and querying any discrepancies that may occur
* Monitoring drivers sheets to ensure daily dips are completed by the drivers and highlighting any issues directly to them
* Manage the Domestic and Commercial ledger and ensure accounts are paid within terms
* Working with the Regional Credit Control Manager and Depot Manager to ensure any action as required is taken
* Ensure a high standard of safety is maintained, managed and reported
* Support and lead on all HSA/regulatory and compliance matters in the depot
* Identifying areas where training is needed and ensure training is organized e.g. JDE training, phone skills, driver training
* Develop and manage the performance management process for each individual in the depot
* Act as a mentor, professional leader and brand ambassador whilst encouraging the company ethos
* Foster an atmosphere where employees feel comfortable in approaching you about concerns or ideas that they might have
* Maintaining a proper level of discipline and adhering to employee relation’s procedures
* To complete ad hoc administration duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the depot
What you’ll need to succeed:
* Have a good understanding of the operation and its different functions.
* Have a track record of successful continuous improvement initiatives and results with a focus on the industry and its competitors.
* Strong knowledge of transport legislation in Ireland
* Strong capability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills.
* Excellent communication skills
* Must be effective at problem solving and making decisions.
* Must be highly organized and be able to prioritize effectively.

Education and experience
* Post-secondary education required
* 3 years plus – working in an operations environment
