Job Description
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to join our team in Cork or Limerick. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems critical to the production process.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, including but not limited to pumps, compressors, boilers, HVAC systems, and utilities.
2. Conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and diagnose mechanical problems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of equipment.
3. Execute preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to uphold equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
5. Document maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and maintenance reports, to maintain accurate records and track equipment performance.
6. Participate in safety programs and adhere to established safety protocols to promote a safe working environment.
7. Provide technical support and guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed.
8. Willingness to undergo additional training and certification as necessary.
Skills and Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
1. Time served in an engineering technical degree or diploma, or Solas advanced craft certification to level 6, or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a mechanical maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and piping systems, as well as their operation and maintenance requirements.
4. Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing repairs using hand and power tools.
5. Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and techniques to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
6. Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to facilitate equipment maintenance and repairs.
7. Computer literacy.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
9. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
10. Flexibility to work occasional weekends, holidays, or off-hours as needed to support maintenance activities and respond to emergencies.
