Pricing and Forecasting Specialist Role
You will be responsible for evaluating all relevant costs and risks associated with serving gas or electricity customers, issuing customer-specific quotations and mass market tariffs in a timely manner, supporting sales teams in executing their market strategies, forecasting consumption for all existing customers on a weekly basis, maintaining the integrity of quotation and forecasting processes through audit trails and comprehensive documentation, and ensuring the smooth flow of data throughout the end-to-end process to protect margins.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Preparing transparent custom pricing offers for gas and electricity reflecting costs and risks.
2. Developing cost-reflective tariffs and supporting their transfer onto billing systems.
3. Generating detailed reports on costs, revenue, and margins for actionable leadership insights.
4. Updating and validating demand forecasts for gas and electricity.
5. Acting as a control point in quotation and forecasting processes, ensuring necessary authorizations are in place.
6. Contributing to hedging strategies for risk management and enhancing profitability.
7. Performing ad hoc analyses for strategic decision-making and identifying growth opportunities within customer segments.
8. Continuously improving reporting tools and dashboards for data-driven decision making.
9. Implementing changes required by market developments or regulatory shifts.
10. Leading and participating in projects supporting business objectives including cross-functional initiatives and process enhancements.
11. Becoming a subject-matter expert on pricing and market-related topics.
About You
* A degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and advanced skills in Excel, SQL, and PowerBI.
* Demonstrated commercial judgment and acumen, strong verbal and written communication skills.
* A proven ability to work well with and maintain positive relationships at all levels within the organisation.
* Ownership of issues with a solution-oriented mindset, highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks concurrently while meeting strict deadlines.
* An understanding of energy markets (sales and wholesale) and associated retail products is desirable but not essential.
