Due to a high demand, our client is looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. Our client is a consultancy company that provides a range of services in the construction and engineering industry.
As a member of their team, you will play an important role in enabling the company to maintain its high levels of performance and ensure its continued growth into the future.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and analyze technical documents such as datasheets, drawings, specifications, and consultations to identify effective solutions for ongoing issues.
* Demonstrate extensive experience in both residential and commercial construction, with a thorough understanding of Building, Fire, and Housing Regulations, including design, materials, specifications, and workmanship.
* Have a solid grasp of the Planning and Development Act.
* Conduct site visits throughout Ireland as part of your duties.
* Attend sites to support surveys and assessments.
* Deliver high-quality reports, ensuring client deadlines and objectives are met by proactively addressing challenges and maintaining a strong focus on quality.
* Provide support to staff, including Managing and Associate Directors, when needed.
* Assess defects and prepare expert reports for clients.
* Regularly monitor the progress of tasks and follow up on any outstanding information.
* Be vigilant in identifying company and client requirements, escalating issues when necessary.
* Manage inbound and outbound communications, including calls, emails, and technical inquiries from clients and other professional advisors.
* Ensure the accurate maintenance of records in accordance with company procedures and systems.
Personal Attributes / Candidate Profile:
* Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, questioning, and active listening.
* Strong ICT skills with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and technology.
* Familiarity with construction and health and safety legislation.
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, using both technical knowledge and experience to make timely and informed choices.
* Highly organized and self-motivated.
* Confident and articulate, with the ability to engage professionally with clients and colleagues, fostering long-term relationships.
* Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and demonstrate a positive attitude within the workplace, offering support to team members when needed.
Key Requirements:
* A valid full driving license.
* At least five years of experience in a similar role. At least 2 years experience in Ireland.
* A relevant degree in Building Surveying, Property, or a related construction discipline.
* Candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.
