Quadrant Scientific is an exciting new Irish start-up delivering the leading edge of electronics innovation to clients across the medical device sector. Our core expertise is in electromagnetic tracking and navigation technology which provides essential tools for performing the most cutting-edge and lifesaving procedures across a wide range of medical procedures.
We are looking for a talented and passionate Image Processing Software Engineer to join our software team and take responsibility over 3D model creation and visualizations from a range of medical imaging modalities such as CT, x-ray and ultrasound.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement algorithms for converting medical images into 3D volumetric models.
* Conduct image processing, segmentation, and reconstruction tasks to ensure high-quality 3D outputs.
* Collaborate with clinical teams to understand requirements and refine imaging processes for surgical navigation.
* Validate and optimize imaging algorithms through testing and performance evaluation.
* Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC).
* Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
* Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
* Document and maintain software functionality.
* Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems.
* Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback.
* Comply with project plans and industry standards.
* Ensure software is updated with latest features.
* Library and API design for customer code integration.
Requirements
* Fluent in the Python programming language.
* Experience in Matlab is an advantage.
* Familiar with revision control systems such as Git.
* Proactive in implementing new concepts and ideas based on clinical feedback.
* Proven work experience as an Image Processing Software Engineer.
* Past experience working with medical imaging formats such as DICOM.
* Proven ability to develop software in Python, C, C++ or other programming languages.
* Ability to document requirements and specifications.
* Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.
* Medical imaging: 2 years (required).
