We are currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join our clients Services Department in Charleville, County Cork. You will be working on a continuous stream of projects, collaborating with property clients, senior professionals, and construction contractors. As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for undertaking on-site property surveys and structural surveys; investigating and diagnosing building conditions in line with Building Regulations and Fire regulations based on property history.
Responsibilities within position:
1. Undertaking on-site property surveys.
2. Investigating and diagnosing building conditions.
3. Carrying out inspections on buildings before purchase to assess the quality and identify any structural faults.
4. Locating the cause of structural problems and recommending/providing solutions.
5. Drawing up schedules of dilapidations, schedules of condition, and schedules of works for necessary repair.
6. Dealing with planning applications, advising on property legislation, and building regulations.
7. Obtaining approvals required under the Planning law, Building Regulations, bye-laws, and other relevant legislation.
8. Designing, building, maintaining, renovating, and extending new and existing buildings.
9. Project-managing, controlling budgets, and supervising building projects on-site.
10. Keeping reports on the progress of work.
11. Providing advice and assistance to builders.
Experience Requirements:
1. Minimum Degree in Building Surveying (NFQ Level 8) or Civil/Structural Engineering – BSc in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification.
2. Proven work experience in building surveying or civil-structural engineering.
3. A full, clean Irish/EU driving license.
