Role Overview:
The Electrical Design Lead will be responsible for electrical design outputs to support ongoing contracts and coordinating activities across the team of electrical design engineers. This position provides the opportunity to work on exciting new projects, producing detailed designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants across Ireland as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering and project delivery team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop new electrical designs and innovative concepts to meet project requirements
* Assess and interpret client specifications to ensure alignment with project goals
* Prepare detailed electrical technical designs and submissions for approval
* Design systems for electrical distribution, general services, lighting, fire and intruder alarms, motor control panels, and containment systems
* Design electrical instrumentation systems to meet operational needs
* Assist in the development and structuring of system architecture for projects
* Prepare comprehensive Cable, IO, and Power schedules for project planning
* Evaluate and select sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure quality and project success
* Specify equipment requirements in collaboration with the purchasing department
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, contracts, control & automation) to ensure project efficiency and cohesion
* Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and address any queries or concerns
* Support and manage team members, ensuring they are well-supported, motivated, and have the resources needed for success
Requirements:
* Industry Knowledge: Experience in the water and wastewater treatment sector is highly desirable.
* Education: Accredited NFQ Level 8 Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
* Experience: 7+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong track record of success.
* Organisational Skills: Strong ability to stay organised, manage multiple priorities, and ensure efficient workflows.
* Time Management & Communication: Excellent time management skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
* Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience leading a team, including delegating tasks, scheduling work, providing guidance, and overseeing personnel to ensure project success.
* Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of electrical design standards and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex technical challenges.
* Knowledge of automation and control systems.
