Our client is an Irish-owned Facilities Management company working in multiple sectors including Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Education, Corporate, Government, Public Buildings, and Retail.
We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Division on a full-time permanent contract. The successful applicant will be predominantly based in the Leinster region, with a particular emphasis on the Dublin area; however, they will be expected to travel to meet the needs of the business.
The successful applicant will operate between both office and site as they provide support to the overall commercial team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Overlook the measurement of work to maximise the value of applications to our clients.
2. Review programmes in respect of delays, disruption, damage, and subcontract programmes, ensuring as-built records are maintained while appropriate policies and communications are issued in line with contract requirements.
3. Manage the administration of applications for payment up and down the stream, along with payment of subcontractors to ensure positive cash flow where possible with fair valuations.
4. Responsible for the commercial management of contracts and cost reporting.
5. Present final accounts and additional cost applications.
6. Compile and produce subcontract documents.
7. General contract administration in line with our contract obligations and notices of change for any requested work that would be a variation to contracted work.
8. Assessment of subcontractor’s applications for payment.
9. Assist with monthly valuations and the preparation of variations.
10. Maintain variation logs for client and subcontractor variations.
11. Compilation of tender documents and procurement strategy.
12. Assist the estimation team with estimate preparations.
13. Always behave in a manner fitting to the business ethos and maintain the Company’s standards both internally and externally.
14. Act as a brand ambassador and lead the Company through its ongoing expansion.
15. Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business.
Requirements:
1. Degree qualified in either Quantity Surveying or a Construction Economics discipline.
2. 5+ years experience in a fast-paced commercial environment.
3. Solid commercial and financial awareness.
4. Excellent analytical and planning ability with exceptional numeracy skills.
5. Strong understanding of financial and budgetary control (labour and subcontractors).
6. Exceptional time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and complete a wide range of tasks.
7. Highly proficient level of IT literacy to include Microsoft Office.
8. Predominantly based in the Leinster region with a particular emphasis on the Dublin area; however, they will be expected to travel to meet the needs of the business.
Package: €60K-€80K based on experience and negotiable for the right candidate.
