Account Director – New Business Development:
My client, a leading Irish insurance brokerage with a major client base are looking to hire an Account Director for New Business Development for their Commercial Lines business.
The Opportunity:
This focus of this role will primarily be to identify and develop new business opportunities at the SME and corporate level. You will work across a variety of company sales campaigns and on generating new business leads for conversion.
This is an opportunity for a highly experienced and energetic senior new business development professional with experience in Insurance, Financial Services or another relevant industry where you have built a strong network of SME, Commercial and Corporate connections that can be leveraged and converted into sales.
The role will focus on identifying and developing new business opportunities and it will be heavily supported by a highly experienced and knowledgeable technical team to ensure the conversion of leads via the provision of a comprehensive suite of industry leading insurance solutions.
* Location: Dublin – Hybrid Remote – Dublin / East of Ireland
* Salary: Depending upon on experience plus bonus and benefits. Very competitive fixed salary, circa €90k plus additional bonus and incentive based payment.
* Hybrid role with a strong emphasis on client facing activities in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Sales and new business activity management
* Seek, quote and convert quotations for new commercial clients.
* Meet challenging income acquisition and referral targets set.
* Assist in achieving the overall objectives of the Commercial Lines New Business Team.
* Build a strong pipeline of prospective clients in an agreed timeframe and meet and exceed minimum conversion ratios and revenue targets.
* Take ownership of delivery of the highest level of customer service to all clients and prospective clients.
* Work with broking and compliance teams to ensure compliance levels are at the highest possible level and the quality of records meets required standards.
* Provide support and guidance to Account Executive(s) on clients.
* Comply with all relevant compliance legislation.
* Manage aged debt and premium collection.
* Comply with all Management Audit Requirements.
The right individual will possess the following:
Core Skills: Only candidates with all of these requirements can be considered for this role
* APA (Insurance Industry) qualification - if you do not have this you should be willing to commit to achieving it (15 hours) within a short time frame post commencing employment.
* 5+ years new business development experience in Insurance, Financial Services or another relevant industry (ideally services based)
* Strong new business development skills and a demonstrable track recording of growing revenues within an organisation over a number of years.
* The ability to deal with and convert larger more complex opportunities.
* A strong network of key decision makers (MD's, GM's, Owners, C-Suite) in the SME, Commercial and/or Corporate sector.
Soft Skills: Only candidates with all of these requirements can be considered for this role
* Exceptional communication, presentation and client facing skills.
* A natural networker.
* A strong level of attention to detail.
* Target, goal and deadline orientated.
* Strong negotiation skills and the ability to understand customer needs.
* First class stakeholder, client and relationship management skills.
