We are currently seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in County Kerry. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a critical role in analysing and interpreting financial data to drive cost control and optimisation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain accurate cost records, including cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation.
* Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with cost standards and identify areas for efficiency gains.
* Conduct regular cost variance analyses and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
* Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, focusing on cost drivers and potential risks.
* Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
* Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations related to cost accounting practices.
* Communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
* Participate in internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations for cost-related matters.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
* Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), or ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant).
* 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
* Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
* Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
