Purpose of the Job
1. To contribute to the turnover and profitability of the Restaurant/Food Service areas by taking full responsibility for ensuring all customers experience a satisfying visit and receive the highest standard of goods and services by being attentive, responsive and anticipating the customers’ needs while creating and maintaining customer-friendly relationships.
2. Use your skills and talent to manage all aspects of the smooth running of the Restaurant/Food Service areas and assist in the development and growth of the Restaurant/Food Service area to its full capacity and maximize sales at every opportunity.
3. Identify any training needs of staff including work methods, safety at work, health, hygiene and quality, and deliver ‘on job’ training as appropriate. Manage, supervise and motivate your team to ensure performance of staff is developed to the best of their potential.
About The Role
Duties & Responsibilities
1. To ensure all customers receive the highest standard of service quickly, efficiently and courteously in a professional and friendly manner.
2. Ensure all customer complaints are dealt with in a friendly manner and within a reasonable time frame. Report customer complaints to the Area Manager and/or General Manager. Ensure that you and your staff meet and greet customers and make them feel comfortable. Acknowledge, engage and check in with customers to make sure everything is going well.
3. Ensure that the premises are kept clean and tidy at all times.
4. To ensure the creation of good working relationships with colleagues and team members to ensure all systems are working correctly and ensure adequate coordination of the kitchen/restaurants activities.
5. Hold regular communication meetings to ensure that all staff is kept up to date with products and promotions, upcoming events and training.
6. Lead by example by demonstrating desired behaviors for your staff including customer service, driving up-sales, cash management, and follow up with customers.
7. In liaison with your team, prioritize and allocate work to optimize the use of the workforce and resources available.
8. To keep control of all administration work required to keep the premises in line with Head Office policies and Procedures.
9. To be aware and implement all the group's policies and procedures.
10. Monitor and ensure that all staff are compliant with all relevant legislation.
11. Deal with all employee complaints and grievances promptly.
12. Contribute to and help communicate decisions, ideas and methods to your team.
13. To increase all management's and staff effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orientating, training, coaching, counselling, appraising and disciplining all staff.
14. Take full responsibility for all deliveries and stock inventory.
15. To keep costs to a minimum and keep effective control measures in place.
16. Ensure that all staff receives their induction training and employment rights.
17. To consult with the head Chef and/or Executive Chef regarding menu management.
18. Conduct, participate and engage in performance and development reviews.
19. Comply with all food and beverage regulations and maintain hygiene practices.
20. To report any defects immediately to senior management.
21. To ensure staff have a professional neat appearance and follow the group's strict dress code.
