Slalom Ireland is looking for a senior Modern, Cloud Data Architect to join our Data & Analytics team in Dublin. As a team member and Cloud Data Architecture leader, you will define and architect the data solutions for our clients and use data and analytics to drive and optimize their business. You lead and oversee the architecture, design and data engineering of these solutions.
You understand that data isn’t only about using the latest technologies, it is about creating a modern culture of data which enables and encourages the use of data, ensuring everyone understands it’s value. You are keen to listen and understand, comfortable with ambiguity and able to work in environments with complex stakeholder relationships. By assessing the current state you are able to propose solutions which incorporate technology, ways of working, data literacy, governance and change.

Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with client (business and IT stakeholders), capture data and analytical requirements and align technical solutions to the business objectives
2. Participate in cloud data architecture and technology maturity assessments, co-create bold visions for the future, and define enabling modern data architectures and data and analytics solution roadmaps
3. Act as lead data architect on agile projects to deliver to our clients transformative data and analytics solutions that are aligned to industry best practices and leverage your thought leadership in the data space
4. Research, support, recommend and select technical approaches for solving complex development and integration problems
5. Support the growth of the practice through a combination of business development, talent management, oversight of delivery work and thought leadership
6. Build and lead a team of cloud data architects and data engineers
Required Skills and Qualifications
7. Considerable knowledge of modern data architectures, cloud data platforms, data engineering, tools and technologies, and processes
8. Deep experience with multiple data modelling techniques and data integration patterns, as well as the actual data and data pipeline engineering
9. Deep experience with master data management as a key component of any data architecture
10. Deep experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms
11. Experience with CI/CD
12. Experience with scoping, estimating and proposal-writing for complex data and analytics solutions
13. Experience with hiring, leading and coaching people
14. Bonus: Experience with data mesh and data as a product thinking and enabling technologies
