About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious Purchasing Manager/Procurement Specialist to support Senior Management in delivering high-profile construction & engineering projects. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for assembling tender packages, evaluating submissions, and negotiating agreements to maximize value for the company.
Responsibilities
1. Provide commercial support to project teams on project commencement.
2. Attend project meetings and obtain required information and clarifications to close project procurement.
3. Assemble procurement packages for tender in conjunction with project team.
4. Evaluate technical submittals & approvals to facilitate project procurement.
5. Lead the negotiation process, driving closure on package agreements.
6. Liaise with project teams to improve demand planning.
7. Assist in implementing category management process improvements.
8. Drive improvements in supplier price management and performance.
9. Implement lean process procurement methods.
Requirements
* Degree Qualification.
* 5+ Years' Experience in Engineering, commercial development, civil, residential or refurb/fit out industries.
* Solid engineering knowledge and experience to appreciate project requirements.
* Excellent computer skills and ability to utilize MS suite of products.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Constructive questioning and effective listening skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Able to think beyond boundaries.
* Excellent communicator with ability to communicate with technical and non-technical disciplines.
