IT Test Lead
Cork/Hybrid (2 days per week required onsite)
Initial 12 month day rate contract Our client, a globally recognized brand, is seeking an IT Test Lead to join their team in Cork.
The ideal candidate for this role would have experience in industries that involve manufacturing, automation, and industrial IT systems.
Role Overview: Lead and manage testing activities across multiple IT/OT projects.
Work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to develop and execute effective test plans.
Oversee testing cycles for system upgrades and enhancements, ensuring thorough documentation and sign-off.
Assist in the creation and delivery of training materials related to testing processes.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and lead testing for multiple concurrent IT/OT projects.
Define best practices, methodologies, and standards for testing activities.
Develop, implement, and oversee test plans, strategies, and execution processes.
Collaborate with project managers, developers, and business teams to establish testing schedules.
Manage end-to-end testing, including execution and final approvals, working in alignment with global test teams.
Support key users during testing phases and ensure accuracy in execution.
Maintain detailed documentation of all test activities and results.
Prepare and conduct training sessions related to testing procedures.
Write and run test cases as needed.
Required Experience & Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience leading software testing teams.
Strong background in defining and implementing test processes, QA methodologies, and strategies.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Experience using test management tools (e.g., ADO or similar).
Expertise in setting up test data and environments for end-to-end testing.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Experience working with developers, business analysts, and support teams to troubleshoot testing-related issues.
Hands-on experience with both Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of IT systems, including operating systems, networks, Active Directory, and databases.
Familiarity with OT/Automation technologies (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, ISA-95, and Plant Historians).
Understanding of AVEVA control systems (e.g., InTouch, InBatch, Historian, System Platform).
