Abhainn Balbriggan (2) is a day services providing supports and activities to adult's complex needs arising from a combination of intellectual, autism, physical and/or sensory disabilities.
Abhainn Balbriggan (2) supports 6 Service Users; some are supported in a 2:1 ratio whereas other individuals have individualised staffing.
Abhainn Balbriggan (2) is a person-centred service guided and supported by the standards of New Directions and through individual Cosan programmes and QQI courses.
The service aims to meet the needs of each individual service user promoting independence and quality of life.
The day service team are comprised of different skill mix reflecting the needs of the persons using the service.
The team includes social care workers and Direct Support workers and is supported by an MDT and SMH operational management.
Essential Criteria: Have at least 5 years' experience working in the area of intellectual disability within a community setting. Be knowledgeable of Health Act 2007 and have experience and understanding of HSE, (2015) Interim Standards for New Directions. Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role in the area of health or social care. Experience of managing a staff team and developing the team to ensure that they have the necessary skills and motivation to deliver to the highest of standards. Have a strong commitment to the empowerment of the service users and their families. Excellent facilitation, leadership, and communication skills. Must be able to manage budgets and have skills in roster management. Highly organised, motivated, flexible and ability to problem solve Essential Qualifications Required: QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College; Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland; A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award And/or be in the process of being CORU registered or fully registered as a Social Care Worker For a full list of approved Approved qualifications, please see link here.
