The Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) invites applications for the position of In-House Solicitor. The In-House Solicitor will support the Executive Leadership Team in delivering the RTB’s ongoing organisation transformation and strategic development programme.The RTB is a public body governed by a complex piece of legislation, namely the Residential Tenancies Act 2004. In addition, as a public body, the RTB has a number of compliance/governance requirements which include, but are not limited to:Code of Practice for the Governance of State BodiesExternal Audit by the Comptroller and Auditor GeneralAdherence to complex procurement guidanceCompliance with Data Protection legislationCompliance with employment law and guidanceThe In-House Solicitor will be responsible for providing the full suite of legal services to the RTB Board and Director, including management of increasingly complex litigation, development of legislation and guidance, and support to the Board in the exercise of its functions. This includes managing the governance of the organisation, supporting business units such as People and Culture, Information Governance, Vendor Management, and Procurement; and supporting the operations of the organisation as the Regulator of the Private Residential Sector in registrations, disputes resolution, compliance, and enforcement.The role will include providing litigation services to the business units. The successful candidate will be self-driven and results-oriented with experience in providing strategic advice on complex legal matters. They will have excellent analytical, technical, and drafting skills, as well as the ability to provide practical and solutions-focused advice.A key requirement of the role is the ability to take the initiative and run matters independently while also working as part of a team with a strong growth mindset that is open to feedback.
