Principal Systems Engineer
A principal systems engineer with 10+ years of experience in the voice/telephony area is required to lead our agile scrum team responsible for the Contact Centre platform and engineering.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced principal systems engineer to join our team in Galway. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software design, development, test, and operational automation using Agile (Scrum, Kanban) delivery methods.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of high-level and low-level system designs, working closely with business and technology teams to improve speed of delivery, quality of code, production stability, and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development and implementation of system designs, including architecture, infrastructure, and application layers.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize requirements, develop solutions, and implement changes.
* Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable systems that meet business needs.
* Ensure alignment with enterprise-scale platform architecture, considering high availability and business continuity.
* Maintain and enhance existing systems, applying best practices and industry standards.
Requirements:
* 10+ years of experience in the voice/telephony area.
* Strong leadership and organizational skills.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Expertise in Agile (Scrum, Kanban) delivery methods and software design, development, test, and operational automation.
* Familiarity with Docker and container-based development and deployment practices.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and utilizing uDeploy and/or Ansible.
* Proficiency managing, configuring, and tuning Linux operating systems.
Preferred Skills:
* Familiarity with data communication protocols such as Web, telephony, and other protocols: HTTP, SIP, TLS/SSL, TCP/IP, SNMP, LDAP, RDP, SDP.
* Working knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and data applications/networking.
* Provision new services/technologies, providing cost-effective telecommunications systems and technology options/solutions.
