KNOW THE ROLE
The role will support the monthly and quarterly close process ensuring that underlying processes review and controls have been completed in accordance with best practice. Ensure that the accounts produced meet all regulatory, compliance and audit responsibilities. Support the delivery of the overall Group strategy and goals through the delivery of timely & accurate financial and management information.
Management Accounts
* Support the completion of the Monthly Management Accounts
* Support in delivering timely and insightful month end analysis of costs to Business customers including Store General Managers and Budget Holders
* Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting as needed
* Responsible for monthly allocated balance sheet reconciliations to audit standard
* Assist in the completion of any relevant internal and external audit queries
* Completion of VAT & other Revenue returns on a bi monthly & annual basis
* Provide back up and support to team members as required
* Ad hoc project participation and duties
Accounts Payable
* Support the Management Accountant and AP Co-Ordinator in monitoring Accounts Payable KPI’S and collating required information
* Assist AP in the completion of Debtor and Creditor Recs monthly
* Assist buyers where required to resolve any AP related issues
Budgeting and Forecasting
* Assisting in the annual re-forecasting and annual budgeting cycles.
Team working
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels across the business to interpret business requirements and to ensure effective solution delivery to same.
KNOW WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
* Qualified/Qualified by Experience ACCA/CIMA accountant (3+ years within Management Accounts)
* Experience of analysing and evaluating financial information
* Ability to make a positive impact in a cross-functional environment
* Ability to understand costs and communicate them in simple terms
* Proficient in the use of Excel and the MS Office suite
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent presentation skills and the ability to engage across all levels of the organisation
* Highly organised and efficient with attention to detail and good judgement showing logical decision making and a hands on approach
* Ability to work under pressure, manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met
* Flexible, open to change and proactive, comfortable managing a constantly changing environment
* Experience within a Retail environment
* Knowledge of Financial Systems, beneficial if FSM, Cognos, Qlikview
