Job Description Supporting the firm in the management and ongoing enhancement of its risk framework and risk registers, both within the formal review and challenge process and through engagement with risk owners, provision of dedicated training and query responses.
Performance of 2nd line control testing, supporting the accuracy and completeness of existing 1st line control activity and identifying potential improvements to the control testing framework.
Supporting the development of the firm's risk culture through engagement with stakeholders, training and communications and within the appropriate internal forums and committees.
Provision and ongoing enhancement of management information on risk and risk-related activity to senior leadership, the Board and other senior stakeholders.
Becoming a subject matter expert on risk, control and risk event management within the firm's risk and control frameworks.
Oversight of the firm's Incident Management process, ensuring that risk events are effectively managed to resolution by their operational owners and in compliance with the Consumer Protection Code 2012 and all other applicable codes and legislation.
Assisting other business areas with risk-related queries, including monitoring Risk mailboxes in conjunction with other members of the Risk Team Displays awareness of the firm's risk and control environment and engages proactively with colleagues and management to identify and mitigate risk.
Displays awareness of the regulatory environment in which the firm operates and proactively escalates and addresses and breaches of these requirements.
Consistently demonstrates that "the customer is at the heart of everything we do" through their engagement with stakeholders, and through the resolution of queries and issues in a timely and effective manner.
The Risk Associate will also be required to support the wider team from time to time in areas outside of the immediate risk environment, as well as supporting firmwide projects and initiatives where required.
Qualifications Experience working in a risk, compliance, assurance, or audit function in the financial services sector, preferably in a mortgage lending/servicing environment.
Proven track record in a fast-paced environment within a financial services regulatory environment and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory codes, particularly the Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears and the Consumer Protection Code.
Demonstrable understanding of risk and control within the financial services environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and can confidently present information to senior stakeholders.
Microsoft Office proficiency, strong Excel and Powerpoint knowledge is particularly desirable.
Can work independently without direct supervision and work to deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy with strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
Qualifications Professional certificates in risk management and/or compliance-related qualifications such as the Professional Diploma in Compliance are desirable but not essential, dependent on industry-relevant experience.
Accredited Product Advisor (Loans) or working towards accreditation preferred.
