The Irish Cancer Society is recruiting for a National Fundraising Campaigns Officer.

We can only achieve this through our community of supporters and fundraisers. Our fundraising team inspires, motivates and engages our community of support to raise vital funds. Our National Campaigns team is responsible for leading some of Ireland’s biggest and most inspiring fundraising campaigns and programmes such as our flagship Daffodil Day, breast cancer awareness campaign, or Relay for Life.
What you’ll do
As National Fundraising Campaigns Officer, you will work collaboratively within our fundraising department, and beyond, to develop, deliver and market national fundraising campaigns to raise awareness, raise funds and help achieve the Irish Cancer Society’s vision.

Reports to: National Fundraising Campaigns Manager
Contract type: Specified purpose contract (maternity leave cover)
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm with time flexibility including evening & weekend work required.
Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin office) working. Office attendance days are Wednesday & Thursday.
Salary: €45,000 per annum
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Working with the team to develop fundraising programmes for the National Campaigns fundraising calendar.
* Identifying and evaluating potential new fundraising campaigns/events and developing new initiatives for existing events.
* Identifying and initiating new recruitment channels or opportunities to build awareness of Irish Cancer Society fundraising campaigns and attract new and loyal participants.
Supporter, volunteer and stakeholder relationships
* Developing and maintaining relationships with all Campaign participants to reach fundraising potential and to create long-term supporters.
* Managing volunteers enlisted to help in all National Campaigns, including attending events and managing event volunteers.
* Assisting in growing our Relay for Life programme, fostering positive relationships with Relay for Life committees across the country.
Planning and coordination
* Creating and coordinating supporter communication plans to increase fundraising and ensure supporter loyalty.
* Assisting in the management of the national fundraising campaigns calendar to ensure that campaigns are proceeding to agreed plans and reporting to the National Campaigns Manager on the same.
* Overseeing the flow of creative approvals, copy and design review to ensure projects are delivered within deadlines.
* Contracting and managing external agencies and suppliers to ensure projects meet agreed objectives and to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Analysis and reporting
* Ensuring the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records on the Society Dynamics database.
* Preparing campaign reports and evaluations after all of the National campaigns to measure against KPI’s, increases or decreases in income and to provide insights into the campaigns performance.
* Monitoring market changes and opportunities and competitive activity.
Content development and marketing
* Developing engaging content for use across channels.
* Creating and writing appeal letters and sponsorship packages.
* Working with our communications and digital team to create effective communication plans.
* Assisting with management of the Relay for Life Social Media accounts.

* An understanding of fundraising campaign planning and budgeting and the ability to initiate, design and deliver new fundraising activities.
* Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to motivate, persuade and influence people at all levels.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A self-starter who works from your own initiative, holds a creative mind-set and has an ability to identify opportunities.
* A team player willing to work collaboratively and flexibly to achieve common goals.

* Results oriented with a focus on financial income targets and deadlines.
* A desire to learn and develop your fundraising knowledge.
* Excellent administrative, financial and analytical skills, including planning and budgeting.
* Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple projects and demands in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
Your qualifications and experience
* You will typically have c. 3 years’ of experience in campaigns or fundraising.
* The Society measures experience based on the quality of the experience obtained, rather than in time passed and welcomes applicants at all stages of their career.
* You will be tech savvy with experience in database and CRM systems, and across the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage.
