We are a reputable, three-partner chartered accountancy firm based in Co Meath. With an extensive client database, we have been providing top-notch chartered accountancy services for over 30 years.
We cater to a diverse range of clients across various industries and sectors, including audit, non-audit, sole traders, and more.
Due to rapid growth, we are seeking to expand our team with a Trainee (Graduate Accountant).
Responsibilities:
1. Develop a thorough understanding of our clients and their businesses.
2. Understand the scope of tasks allocated and objectives to be achieved from your manager.
3. Maintain open communication with seniors and managers regarding any issues or problems.
4. Ensure work is completed to a level agreed with the manager and record it clearly and concisely.
5. Draft statutory accounts using the prescribed format, ready for review by receiving and applying instructions given by senior staff without the need for continued correction/reminder.
6. Apply an enthusiasm to completing work to a high standard, in accordance with expectations set by senior staff.
7. Utilize available resources and people to find answers to queries before handing work on to the manager.
8. Accurately complete and maintain timesheets to ensure proper billing for clients.
9. Interact with clients and obtain necessary information for the drafting of management accounts.
10. Take responsibility for regular jobs and finishing work that may come back after review or client clarifications.
11. Answer telephone calls in the office and contact clients for information.
12. Cover reception duties as needed.
13. Attend and contribute to Team Meetings as required.
14. Perform ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
15. Opportunity to take on extracurricular responsibilities within the department, such as tech champion or social team member.
Requirements:
* A minimum 2.1 degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline.
* A willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment.
* Able to grasp and apply core principles relevant to these areas, demonstrating an enthusiasm to develop a thorough understanding of key concepts.
* Proactive in applying learnt knowledge to work thereafter and applying across all jobs.
