The Role:
The Portfolio team supports the effective management of the delivery of the IDD investment programme by ensuring governance and control through data management and systems, processes and performance reporting and analysis including the management of planning, land, wayleave, utility and statutory consents. This enables efficient delivery of the investment programme by providing programme visibility, informed risk management, analysis, challenge, and decision making. The team also provides expert support in key areas that enable the effective, efficient, and sustainable delivery of the IDD investment portfolio.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Technical Lead will be responsible for providing technical engineering support and advice across the full range of projects and programmes within IDD with specific emphasis on commissioning to enable the safe, efficient and consistant commissioning of all assets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the provision of expert technical capability and assurance in your area of expertise (commissioning) to ensure a consistent approach across Uisce Éireann including IDD, AS&S and Asset Operations.
Working with the Technical Assurance team in IDD and AM’s Standards and Specs team support the provision of expert technical feedback and technical input to the development and revision of the S&S documents.
Support the Technical Assurance Manager in providing expert technical capability and assurance in the delivery of projects and responding to technical queries, including managing the project management/ technical assurance frameworks.
Attend and contribute to technical standards forums/Communities of Practice to identify any additional specifications needed by IDD and ensure that practical feedback is incorporated into specification updates.
Ensuring that treatment plants are commissioned correctly by providing expert knowledge and reviewing contractors commissioning plan formats.
Implement the audit process to ensure the ongoing review and updating where required of project specifications/tenders in your technical area.
Continually review the application of standards in line with best practice and efficient design working with the standards team in AM&S to ensure the business is applying the right solutions at the right cost.
Input to and support innovation projects and solutions as they are tested across IW.
Ensure that lessons learned are fed back into the specifications and appropriate teams.
Support the provision of expert and practical advice on your area to the wider business up to and including the provision of training to those areas of the business who would benefit from the updating of their technical competency and skills.
Keep up to date on best practice in terms of technical solutions.
Adopt an adaptable and flexible approach to change, innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across IW and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering against health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation wide objectives.

external delivery partners.
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
A minimum of 5 years’ Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
Ability to develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others
Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job

Please note the Market reference point (midpoint) of the range is generally the upper end of the offer where someone is deemed to be fully competent to take on the duties of the role, and leaves room for the employee to progress through the pay range as their experience develops further.
