Job Description:
St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968, the Foundation has grown by continuously responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
The Foundation provides services to children and adults through day services, residential, respite care, and home support in the North Cork and South West Limerick region. We have day and residential services in various locations such as Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant, Newmarket, Mitchelstown, Mallow, Ballylanders, Ballyagran, Bruree, Bruff, Croom, Dromcollogher, Granagh, Kilmallock, and Liskennett.

The ideal Candidate will have:
* Not less than 3 years' experience working with children/adults with an intellectual disability in a residential setting.
* Social care worker or Nursing qualification.
* Proven managerial skills with not less than three years' experience at management level and an appropriate management qualification to Fetac/QQI level 6 or equivalent.
* Ability to lead a staff team effectively.
* Experience in managing residential budgets.
* A detailed knowledge of HIQA.
* Experience working with adults with behaviours that challenge (desirable).
* A full Irish Driving Licence.

HOURLY COMMITMENT: 37.5 Hours (4 day week possible)
Salary range: 50k to 64k plus allowance of 1.5k
JOB GOAL:
To manage the residence and to listen to, learn from, support, and work to achieve the priorities of the residents in line with The National Standards for Residential Services Children and Adults with Disabilities 2013. To provide them with a home-from-home in accordance with the Foundation's Mission Statement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Promote and ensure that the Ethos, Mission, Vision, and core values of the St. Josephs Foundation are upheld.
* Ensure personnel work in accordance with the policies and ethos of the St. Josephs Foundation.
* Ensure nursing staff adhere to professional code of conduct and operate within their scope of practice.
* Report any concerns for the safety and welfare of residents in a timely manner.
* Ensure a holistic Model of Care for Service Users consistent with a Person Centred approach.
* Be familiar with all Policies and Procedures, particularly those pertaining to client safety and welfare.
* Lead and manage interdisciplinary care for service users.
* Empower staff through coaching, education, and supervision.
* Lead the nursing and allied team through regular team meetings.
* Enable staff to identify and suggest improvement initiatives.
* Ensure high standards of care in the daily running of services.
* Monitor and evaluate quality assurance and clinical effectiveness.
Management and Staff Development
* Promote continuous professional development.
* Ensure efficient allocation and coordination of resources.
* Complete scheduling of rosters in a timely and fair manner.
* Implement Health and Safety practices in accordance with the Safety Statement of the service.
* Conduct regular hazard identification audits.
* Ensure personnel are familiar with emergency procedures.
* Conduct Performance Management Reviews for staff.
* Intervene decisively where standards of behaviour, performance, or attitude contravene service policy.
* Support person centred planning.
Planning
* Prioritise and respond to demands under pressure.
* Maintain a system of record keeping for operational activities.
* Plan short, medium, and long term goals for residents and staff.
Human Resources
* Develop strategies for staff retention.
* Participate in recruitment of staff.
* Foster an environment that encourages professional development.
* Ensure new staff receive adequate induction.
* Keep staff appraised of centre and organisational policies.
* Create a conducive environment for team working.
* Assist in the initiation of grievances and disciplinary procedures.
* Utilise human resources in a cost effective manner.
* Monitor levels of absenteeism.
Finance
* Ensure efficient use of resources.
* Evaluate supplies and equipment purchased.
* Plan and track budget variances.
* Account for service users' monies in accordance with service policy.
Health and Safety
* Report all accidents/incidents on the electronic reporting System Xyea.
* Be aware of duties under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
* Ensure faulty equipment is repaired timely.
* Ensure staff have knowledge of emergency actions and plans.
* Implement and maintain fire and safety precautions.
Professional & Clinical Responsibility
* Ensure residents receive the highest standard of care.
* Maintain high standards of work performance, attendance, and punctuality.
* Promote dignity and respect for all residents.
* Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
* Implement and monitor service policies and procedures.
* Develop effective interdisciplinary networking with families.
* Monitor support services relevant to areas of responsibility.
* Comply with relevant legislation.
* Uphold the code of professional conduct.
* Make evidence-based decisions transparently.
* Promote advocacy in person-centred care delivery.
* Address complaints in accordance with service policy.
