We’re recruiting for an Assurance Officer to join the Assurance Team under the Risk & Compliance Function.

Reporting to the Assurance Manager, the primary responsibility is to provide assurance to AXA Ireland Senior Management that control frameworks are effective in managing the associated risks, in addition to the identification of areas of best practice, control gaps or areas for improvement. This covers Insurance Risk, Operational Risk and Regulatory/Conduct Risk covering all processes within AXA Ireland.
The main responsibilities will involve:
• Assist the Assurance Manager in the management and completion of the annual Assurance Plan ensuring a risk-based approach is taken to ensure that priority is given to those areas that pose the greatest risk exposure in any given period, whilst at the same time ensuring appropriate coverage across the whole of AXA Ireland.
• Completion of individual reviews including the production of written reports with clear findings, recommendations agreed with relevant senior management and with clear ownership and achievable dates for resolution.
• Monitor the progress of Management Action Plans resulting from Assurance audit reviews through liaising with key stakeholders and updating the action tracking database accordingly.
• Provide written status reports to the Assurance Manager.
• Provide advice within AXA Ireland on the design, development, and assessment of controls across the company.
• To identify, build and maintain relationships with appropriate members of the business within assigned relationship management areas and to use these relationships to provide early warning of potential control or risk management issues, and to influence improvement in risk management and control in business processes, projects and change management.
Your Profile
• Minimum experience of 3 years in an insurance business environment.
• Ideally previous exposure to audit type work; experience in Audit/Internal Controls/Risk environment.
• APA qualification (preferably both Personal & Commercial) is essential with a commitment to progress to CIP.
• Desirable - Audit Qualification, ACOI Diploma in Risk Management, Internal Audit & Compliance, ACOI Professional Certificate in Compliance.
• Good working knowledge of all relevant legislation including Consumer Protection Code, Minimum Competency Code, Data Protection Acts, Solvency II, relevant applicable general legislation and any other regulatory requirements issued by the Central Bank of Ireland or the FCA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive influencer with ability to influence and challenge people to secure a change in behaviour in the management of risk.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
