Our Paving & Walling and KPRO businesses are high performance and profitable business units supporting both our Irish and UK based customers. With best-in-class expertise and experience, underpinned by our technologically advanced facilities, we manufacture and retail a complete range of premium quality paving, walling, render and mortar products.
To manage and grow sales within a defined geographical area by developing strong relationships with builders' merchants, contractors, and installers. The role will focus on achieving sales targets, delivering new business, supporting marketing activities, managing customer relationships, and ensuring debt collection and account health.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and grow sales with existing builders' merchant accounts and identify new opportunities.
2. Develop strong working relationships with key contractors and installers to influence product specification and usage.
3. Deliver sales targets and KPIs in line with company strategy.
4. Conduct regular face-to-face meetings, site visits, and branch training sessions.
5. Provide product training, support, and marketing materials to merchant staff and end-users.
6. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through project tracking and lead generation.
7. Work closely with internal sales, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure excellent customer experience.
8. Report on territory activity, market intelligence, competitor activity, and sales performance using CRM systems.
9. Represent the company at trade shows, events, and merchant open days.
10. Proactively develop relationships with key contractors and installers to drive product specification and usage.
11. Identify and secure new merchant stockists and contractor customers in line with company growth objectives.
12. Track projects and leads through CRM and follow them to conversion.
Customer Relationship Management
1. Conduct regular face-to-face meetings, site visits, and branch training sessions.
2. Organize and lead customer review meetings with key merchant accounts and contractors.
3. Act as the first point of contact for customer support issues, escalating internally where required.
4. Monitor customer satisfaction and gather feedback to help inform product and service improvements.
Marketing & Promotional Activity
1. Work closely with the marketing team to support product launches, promotions, and marketing campaigns in the region.
2. Deliver product training and toolbox talks to merchant staff and installers.
3. Organize and participate in merchant trade days, exhibitions, and networking events.
4. Ensure up-to-date product literature and POS are available and displayed in customer locations.
5. Maintain and enhance the relevance of the Kilsaran brand.
Debt Collection & Account Management
1. Monitor customer account balances and support credit control in managing overdue debts.
2. Liaise with customers to assist in resolving outstanding payment issues and maintaining account health.
3. Work in partnership with the finance team to ensure credit limits are managed and adhered to.
Reporting & Administration
1. Maintain accurate records of customer visits, opportunities, and pipeline activity through the CRM system.
2. Provide regular reports on sales performance, market intelligence, competitor activity, and territory opportunities.
3. Contribute to quarterly and annual forecasting and strategic planning.
Skills Required:
1. 3rd level qualification is desirable.
2. 5+ years' solid experience in a sales role and in a related industry with specific focus on dealing with Merchants, Housebuilders & Commercial customers.
3. Technical sales experience across a range of materials and processes in the building materials/quarry products industry is highly desirable.
4. Previous significant customer interfacing experience is essential, along with a proven ability to create and maintain positive relationships and a commercial focus.
