This is an unarmed position for an Executive Protection Agent. Candidates will be required to fulfill executive protection, driver, and residential security roles interchangeably. Domestic and international travel will be required.
Job Description:
The Executive Protection Agent is tasked with numerous functions providing support in Ireland. This position operates in a dynamic, multi-faceted, and fast-paced environment, and candidates must be comfortable in social settings with high-profile public figures. Below are some of the functions and responsibilities:
1. Ensure the overall safety and security of designated Principals and their property.
2. Draft SOPs for evacuation and emergency planning.
3. Monitor multiple security systems, including alarms and cameras, and competently identify and act on security risks.
4. Control access to properties and maintain security logs for guests, service personnel, and vendors.
5. Drive Principals to various personal/business venues and/or additional off-site assignments.
6. Demonstrate proficiency in the use and proper maintenance of all equipment used in support of the protective operations program (i.e., vehicles, medical supplies, communications devices, etc.).
7. Maintain an acceptable professional appearance.
8. Communicate with the Principals, staff, coworkers, and other third-party vendors utilizing a customer service approach.
9. Adapt to various tasks assigned outside of traditional security operations/roles.
10. Exhibit on-the-spot critical thinking and improvisation.
11. Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
12. Be comfortable in a variety of social settings, with the ability to socially engineer desired outcomes.
13. Work shifts that can include days/nights/weekends/holidays/OT.
14. Travel when required, both domestic and international.
15. Provide close protection to Principals at various venues, events, business meetings, personal trips, etc.
16. Perform a variety of tasks around the Principal’s property as required.
17. Maintain a positive attitude through various situations and conduct oneself in a manner that contributes to a positive and professional work environment.
18. Conduct advance work for routes, venues, and travel trips.
19. Have proficient writing skills to complete detailed reports.
20. Coordinate with the Principal’s staff and outside personnel to facilitate seamless operations for our Principals.
21. Maintain physical fitness to stand for several hours without a break, provide protective coverage during physically taxing activities including running, swimming, hiking, and maintain long schedules in the field.
22. Engage responsibly in an active threat against the Principal.
23. Be proficient in defensive tactics to de-escalate or actively engage in potential threats against the Principals.
Licensing Requirements:
1. Current Passport with more than six months until expiration.
2. CPR/First Aid/AED certification for Adults, Children, and Infants.
Preferred Education and Experience:
1. Certification from a recognized EP school (this can be supplemented with 2+ years of relevant industry experience).
2. Graduation from a certified driving school is also preferable, but this too can be supplemented based on experience.
3. Military or law enforcement experience is a plus.
4. Proficient in the use of social media collection tools in support of protective intelligence.
5. Training in defensive tactics, counter-surveillance/surveillance detection, and covert protection experience.
6. Medical training is a plus.
7. Regularly active in outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, ocean sports, etc.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Good understanding of the latest technology in security camera systems, smartphones, and collaboration apps.
2. Able to work in a collaborative team environment.
3. Excellent communicator with the ability to converse professionally with clients, superiors, peers, and vendors.
4. Drug-free; must pass a drug screening and submit to periodic screenings throughout employment.
5. Specific training related to this detail will be provided upon hire.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
2. Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
3. Prolonged periods of sitting for 5+ hours at a desk monitoring surveillance equipment.
4. Prolonged periods of standing for 4-5+ hours without a break.
5. Ability to lift 50 pounds at a time.
6. Ability to lift, drag a human up to 200 lbs or more if necessary.
7. Ability to bend, twist, stoop, crawl.
8. Ability to respond to physical attacks, natural disasters, and evacuations.
9. Perform physical activities such as hiking, biking, and swimming.
