Planning Manager – Dublin/Leinster – Construction Our client is a €500m turnover, multi-disciplined main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe.
They undertake large turnkey projects for blue-chip clientele, in Europe the focus is on Data Centres and similar tech-focussed projects.
In Ireland they operate as more of a generalist main contractor working across a variety of industry sectors including healthcare / hospitals, residential, education and industrial Due to a recent project win, our client is now seeking a Planning Manager in Dublin/Leinster.
Responsibilities * Project Scheduling and Timeline Management: The Planning Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining the project schedule, ensuring that all tasks and milestones are completed on time.
They develop detailed timelines, identify critical paths, and adjust schedules to account for any delays or changes, ensuring the project is completed within the required timeframe.
* Resource Planning and Allocation: The Planning Manager coordinates the allocation of resources such as labour, equipment, and materials, ensuring that they are available when needed.
They optimize resource usage to avoid delays, manage conflicts, and ensure efficient project execution, particularly in specialized environments like pharma, data centres, or warehouses.
* Risk Identification and Mitigation: They identify potential risks that could impact the project schedule, such as supply chain issues, labour shortages, or regulatory requirements (especially in pharma and data centre projects).
The Planning Manager proactively develops mitigation strategies to reduce the impact of these risks on the overall project timeline.
* Stakeholder Coordination and Reporting: The Planning Manager is responsible for communicating the project schedule and progress to key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and project teams.
They provide regular updates, flagging any issues, delays, or changes to the schedule, and work with stakeholders to develop solutions to keep the project on track.
* Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: In specialized projects like pharma or data centres, the Planning Manager ensures that all planning and execution activities comply with industry-specific regulations (e.g., GMP in pharma or data security requirements in data centres).
They manage the planning process to meet regulatory deadlines and ensure that the project stays compliant throughout.
Requirements Previous experience in Pharma/Data Centre/Hi-Tech Distribution/Warehouse/ ideal.
Must have 7+ years planning experience.
