Anderson McQue is recruiting for our client who is a world leader in providing customized solutions in the Energy, Water- and Waste-Water Treatment and Waste sectors.

Overview of the role:
The automation technician will work with the Maintenance and Calibration team. He/she will liaise with the contract team, client engineering and equipment vendors for all issues relating to the automated systems in assigned building, i.e. BMS, QBMS, MCS, and VPE. He/she will resolve all automation issues relating to utilities plant and equipment, to ensure maximum uptime of same. Project work and reliability work is also part of this role as required by the current client.
Duties of the Role include:
1. Maintenance and troubleshooting of all client automated systems.
2. Co-ordination and supervision of vendors and sub-contractors on site.
3. Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines.
4. Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements.
5. Update stores spare lists as appropriate when required.
6. Keep training current in line with client’s requirements, i.e. SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI’s (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.
7. When necessary, review all Maintenance Task Lists, SOP’s, EWI’s, and other relevant documentation to instigate the necessary changes post review.
8. All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and company EHS rules and guidelines.
9. Liaise with client Automation group.
10. Any other activities as directed by the company’s Contract Manager.
Required skills for this role:
1. National Craft Certificate (or equivalent) in appropriate electro-mechanical /electrical/ instrumentation discipline.
2. Cert/diploma/degree (or equivalent) in appropriate electro-mechanical /electrical/ instrumentation discipline.
3. Experience of SCADA / PLC.
4. Electrical, schematic and circuit diagram reading.
5. Troubleshooting/repair of Low Voltage Electrical Systems.
6. Good organisational skills.
7. Experience in pharmaceutical environment.
8. Team Player.
9. Methodical & Analytical approach to work.
10. Good problem solving and trouble shooting ability.
11. Good Initiative and Pro-active attitude in approach to duties.
