Glasson Lakehouse, beautifully situated in Killinure, Glasson, Co. Westmeath, N37 HX45 is a 4-star hotel and golf course. We are currently seeking a PGA Pro and Head of Golf Operations with a PGA Professional certification
Job Purpose:
The PGA Professional & Head of Golf Operations will lead and oversee all aspects of golf at Glasson Lakehouse Resort. This role requires a qualified PGA Professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional golf experiences, driving membership growth, and ensuring the highest standards of course and service quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership, event management, financial oversight, and brand development, aligning golf operations with the resort’s overall vision.
Job Description:
1. Leadership & Management
o Lead and develop the golf operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
o Implement staff training programs to maintain high service standards.
o Ensure seamless collaboration with other resort departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
2. Membership Growth & Networking
o Develop and execute strategies to increase membership and maintain strong retention rates.
o Build relationships with local and international golfers, corporate clients, and industry partners.
o Act as an ambassador for the golf club, attending industry events and networking opportunities.
3. Competitions & Events
o Plan and manage a dynamic calendar of tournaments, member events, and corporate outings.
o Work closely with sponsors, professional bodies, and media to promote and elevate the resort’s golf profile.
o Ensure seamless execution of events, delivering a premium experience for all participants.
4. Operational Standards & Quality Control
o Oversee golf course maintenance in collaboration with the grounds keeping team to ensure optimal playing conditions.
o Manage the pro shop, including merchandising, customer service, and inventory control.
o Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
5. Financial Management
o Develop and manage the annual golf operations budget, focusing on cost control and revenue generation.
o Identify and implement new revenue streams, including memberships, green fees, retail sales, and sponsorships.
o Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
6. Marketing & Brand Building
o Work alongside the marketing team to develop campaigns promoting the golf course to local and international markets.
o Leverage social media, digital platforms, and print media to enhance brand visibility.
o Develop promotional initiatives to attract new members and guests.
7. Customer Engagement & Experience
o Foster a welcoming and engaging environment for members and guests.
o Regularly interact with golfers to gather feedback and enhance the overall experience.
o Implement loyalty programs and exclusive member benefits to enhance retention.
Qualifications & Experience:
* PGA Professional certification (must-have qualification).
* Extensive experience in golf operations, with a strong background in leadership and management.
* Proven track record of growing memberships and delivering high-quality events.
* Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
* Excellent communication and networking skills.
* Experience in marketing and brand development is an advantage.
