You will join Contentful as a software engineer and be a part of an innovative team driving the future of content management and delivery through our suite of APIs. * Continuously enhance REST and GraphQL API experiences that consistently cater to billions of requests every month.
What you need to be successful?
* Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer in a product development environment.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in TypeScript, React, and Node.js. Interested in clean code practices and familiarity with enterprise architectural design patterns.
* Strong experience with Node.js: Expertise in building RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and backend systems using Node.js.
* Strong Experience with GraphQL: Practical knowledge of building, maintaining, and optimizing GraphQL APIs.
* Cloud and Deployment Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.), and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
* Database Knowledge: Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
* Version Control Systems: Proficient in Git and understanding of workflows such as GitFlow.
* API-First Design: Experience in building and maintaining robust, flexible APIs with an emphasis on scalability and performance.
* Asynchronous Programming: Deep understanding of event-driven programming and handling asynchronous processes in Node.js.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of building microservices architecture and handling distributed systems challenges.
* Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient code delivery.
* Proven ability to identify performance bottlenecks and implement performance improvements in backend systems.
* Prior experience working in Agile environments.
