Production Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a Production Manager to lead our 24/7 production facility in West Cork.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the operator team on shift, ensuring the production process runs safely, reliably, and efficiently.
* Ensure the production plan and shift priorities are met.
* Create shift schedules, assign duties, and monitor team performance, ensuring standards are consistently met or exceeded.
* Coach and train operators, ensuring safe use of equipment and adherence to procedures.
* Proactively engage with Maintenance, Quality, and other teams to ensure smooth operations and collaboration.
* Take ownership of customer complaints and lead investigations to resolve them.
* Provide comprehensive handover reports at the end of shifts to ensure continuity.
* Drive continuous improvement through engagement with lean tools and cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements:
* A degree in Food Science or a related field, or production management experience in a food manufacturing environment.
* 2+ years' experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience with GMP, Hygiene, and Health & Safety requirements.
* Strong ability to coach and develop team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated, with a proactive approach to managing the team and operations.
* Willingness to work 12-hour shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off in peak summer) and 8-hour shifts (6 am - 2 pm, 2 pm - 10 pm during winter).
