Main Purpose of the job
To order, receive, administrate, control and issue parts.
Main Objectives and responsibilities
1. To process requests/orders for spare parts.
2. To process special orders and to communicate on lead time, actual delivery and price with the customer or the department concerned.
3. To book parts in and out of stock.
4. To sell parts and other dealership services.
5. To undertake regular stock takes.
6. To attend training programmes and internal company meetings.
7. To undertake housekeeping and other duties relating to Health and Safety policy.
8. To deliver spare parts.
9. To unload and load parts onto the delivery van and move parts to required locations.
Specific tasks
1. To achieve a very high level of accuracy in the processing of all movements of parts.
2. To pro-actively contribute to the effective management of parts stock in line with business needs.
3. To build and maintain an excellent working knowledge of the EPC, (Electronic Parts Catalogue) or its equivalent.
4. To achieve high levels of (internal and external) customer satisfaction.
5. To ensure high standards of housekeeping and compliance with Health and Safety (and COSHH) procedures.
6. To pro-actively contribute to departmental and inter-departmental teamwork and to be supportive of the overall company mission and related initiatives.
7. To maintain a high standard of personal presentation at all times.
Ideal Candidate
Career experience
1. Currently working in a similar role, ideally with the same manufacturer.
2. Experience as a Technician an advantage but not essential.
3. Experience of customer-facing role.
4. Has demonstrated an ability to learn new skills.
5. Consistent career record.

Education and training
1. Leaving Cert including Maths and English.
2. Specific training in the parts computer systems.
3. Specific training in parts identification.
4. Affiliate of the Institute of the Motor Industry (SIMI).
Development potential
The ideal candidate should have an interest in becoming increasingly skilled within the role.
1. Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
2. Provides high level of service to internal and external customers.
3. Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
4. Notifies the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
5. Organise orders for delivery to body shop, making sure all parts are tagged with customer names and job number.
6. Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
7. Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up.
8. Receiving and checking incoming parts and supplies.
9. Serving a large team of workshop technicians in an efficient manner and liaising with service advisors and service managers on a daily basis giving feedback on any issues in relation to spare parts availability.
10. Store spare parts in an orderly and accessible manner within the parts department while ensuring all work areas are clean and tidy.

Key Competencies
1. Previous experience in a spare parts role within the Motor Industry (Ford / Volvo advantage).
2. Be fluent in verbal and written English.
3. Proficient in Excel and Word.
4. Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a busy aftersales environment.
5. Full Clean Driving Licence.
