What you'll be doing:
We are seeking a Global Finance Operations Manager who will oversee payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processing. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel and general accounting software skills, have a keen eye for process and process improvement, and bring experience with international business, particularly in the United States, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. While there are supporting team members, the candidate must be willing to get hands-on with the details.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Invoicing Sales and VAT Tax:
* Manage delivery of customer invoices, including customer portals and billing systems.
* Oversee credit management and ensure timely resolution of billing issues.
* Oversee sales tax and VAT filing and compliance across various jurisdictions.
* Register the company for new states and countries as we achieve nexus thresholds and manage related tax obligations.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Leadership:
* Lead and manage the global AR function, ensuring efficient processing of invoices, collections, and cash applications.
* Implement and oversee AR strategies to optimize cash flow.
Global Payroll Management:
* Oversee and manage the US and EMEA payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
* Ensure local payroll filing is completed on a timely basis and payroll taxes paid by deadlines.
* Collaborate with external payroll service providers and internal HR teams to address payroll issues and ensure timely payments.
* Administer the company’s pension schemes and ensure compliance with auto-enrollment legislation (where applicable).
Treasury and Transaction Management:
* Oversee cash management activities, including daily cash flow forecasting and reconciliation.
* Handle treasury functions, including bank account management and cash transactions.
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including bank and credit card activities.
Accounts Payable (AP) and Payroll Integration:
* Manage AP processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation.
* Ensure seamless integration of AP and payroll processes with other financial systems.
Team Oversight and Development:
* Supervise a team responsible for tactical finance tasks, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
* Ensure team members are trained and adhere to best practices and company policies.
Technology Utilization:
* Utilize Excel, Infor (new ERP system), and other financial tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
* Leverage technology to enhance financial reporting, transaction processing, and data management.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
* 5-7 years of relevant experience in global finance operations, with a strong focus on AR, AP, and payroll functions.
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
Core Competencies:
* Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and web-based technologies.
* Experience with customer portals, billing systems, and credit management.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Strong understanding of international finance and business operations, particularly in the US, EU, and UK.
* Proven ability to manage and optimize financial processes and systems.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to oversee and develop a team.
* Ability to leverage technology for process improvement and efficiency.
