Quantity Surveyor

The successful candidate will work with the Commercial & Construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships, maximizing commercial returns, and managing risk.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the cost control and monitoring processes for assigned projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
2. Conduct comprehensive cost estimation, analysis, and forecasting to support project planning and decision-making.
3. Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for value engineering.
4. Oversee the procurement process, including the preparation and evaluation of tender documents, negotiation with suppliers, and contract award.
5. Review and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, terms, and conditions.
6. Assess and manage variations, claims, and disputes, employing sound negotiation skills and knowledge of contract law.
7. Conduct regular financial analysis, identifying potential risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
8. Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolution of commercial issues.
9. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors, supporting their professional development.
10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quantity surveying.
11. Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, promoting collaboration and partnership.
12. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies throughout project lifecycle.
13. Implement and utilize appropriate software tools and technologies for efficient quantity surveying processes.
14. Participate in tendering and bidding activities, including preparing cost estimates and pricing strategies.
Experience & Skills:
15. Educated to degree level and working toward the relevant professional accreditation
16. At least 5 years QS experience with across multiple projects.
17. Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, techniques, and practices.
18. Proficient in contract administration, cost control, and financial analysis.
19. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
20. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
21. Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools.
22. Effective time management, organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
