My client within the insurance sector based in Dublin are looking for a Project Manager to join their Managing General Underwriter (MGU) team. They will work to drive projects and initiatives that support the businesses processes currently and in the future, liaising with the Tech teams and users across business units to thoroughly understand requirements and convert them into effective and efficient projects that deliver on-time and to budget.
The key initial project will be to manage the end-to-end design and implementation for the Claims function. The successful candidate will not only bring core PM skills but is expected to possess a good level of technical knowledge and ideally an understanding of the Claims domain allowing them to proactively contribute to the design of the operating model and challenge assumptions throughout the project.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plan and develop the project from ideation through to implementation
2. Ensure stakeholder satisfaction at all time
3. Day to day you will be involved in working within an agile team ensuring project overall delivery in an agile working environment
4. You will monitor project progress, review user stories and acceptance criteria and set deadlines, investigate, evaluate and make recommendations for improvements to project processes and drive the team to deliver
5. Work closely with other software development teams (internal and external), tech architects and business owners to refine requirements and translate business needs into IT solutions and make sure projects are sequenced as a programme of work
6. Liaise with management across the business to ensure there is always an approach of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice
7. Effectively document and surface relevant information
8. Remove blockers to ensure project success in a pro-active manner
9. Manage risks, issues, deadlines, dependencies and be able to present up to date status reports at any time
10. Work with the Infrastructure team (and other teams as needed) to ensure the functional and non-functional requirements are known and are properly supported, fit for purpose, and kept up to date
11. Create a supportive and rewarding working environment that aligns with the company culture as well as instilling a sense of ownership, accountability and technical excellence in your team driving efficient processes and constantly push engineering best practice
12. Monitor efficiency of resource use and team productivity
13. Develop a thorough understand of our industry and our products and services
14. Regular progress reporting, defining and reporting KPIs and key objective/result metrics including helping your team define, drive and achieve their objectives and key results
15. Keep stakeholders up to date on all activities that affects their individual goals and be a point contact for work status
16. Continual focus on long term effectiveness, simplicity of solutions and appropriate controls
17. Expert at budget & effort management and reporting, tracking team costs, cost of work-packages, efficiency, work in progress etc
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
18. 8+ years demonstrable PM experience within a regulated environment
19. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
20. Knowledge of Claims & Underwriting processes an advantage
21. Ability to implement projects and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
22. Perform detailed and critical analysis of various parts of our ecosystem as required, provide clear and concise feedback and make efficient suggestions for improvement
23. Foresee and communicate potential problems before they arise
24. Strong customer service mentality with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels
25. Strong motivational and people skills, helping team members to excel in a culture of collaboration and openness
26. Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced enterprise level environment
27. Strong communication skills, both oral and written with proven ability to influence change. You should be able to communicate clearly and with purpose, working effectively with team members and stakeholders across the organisation
28. Clear ability to run and manage processes efficiently, including change processes, aligning with other teams as needed
29. Able to deliver objectives assigned to you with a strong sense of urgency
30. Always maintain a high bar of quality and have pride in doing work well to high engineering standards
31. Drive and support innovation in a pragmatic and effective way to meet the needs of the business
