Job Title National Retrofit (DCB) - Programme Executive Salary €51,511 pa (Other arrangements may apply if coming directly from another civil or public service body) Tenure 5-year fixed term contract Work Location Dublin, Dundalk or Sligo Closing Date Midnight, Monday 7th April 2025 Role Profile We have an exciting opportunity in the Retrofit Directorate, in the Defective Concrete Block (DCB) programme.
The Retrofit Directorate is responsible for delivering energy efficiency and retrofit programmes in the residential and community sectors.
The main areas of programme activity include delivering the national retrofit programme and supporting communities to implement sustainable energy use strategies and deliver energy efficiency projects.
The successful candidate will join a new team to develop and deploy grant schemes to support homeowners retrofit their homes, focusing on the delivery of existing and new schemes and the deployment of new technologies and retrofit solutions.
Ireland's national retrofit programme is aimed at upgrading the Irish housing stock to high standards of energy efficiency and renewable energy usage.
SEAI is developing new supports and approaches for retrofitting of our housing stock such as the One Stop Shop service.
You will be supporting the expansion, development and delivery of existing and new schemes and the deployment of new technologies and retrofit solutions.
The successful candidate will report to the Programme Manager for National Retrofit Technical and will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of Ireland's National Retrofit Plan.
Regular travel and site visits to DCB affected areas will be required for this position.
Essential Requirements The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate: A degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 7 or greater) in a relevant technical or operational field i.e., engineering, business or science based.
Minimum three years' directly relevant experience working in this or a related sector or in a similar role.
Expertise/knowledge in the following: energy efficiency retrofit measures, renewable technologies such as heat pumps and the building energy rating methodology.
Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills (including report writing, presenting, public speaking) with an ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Well-developed IT skills including proficiency in MS Excel or equivalent.
Full Driving Licence as site visits to DCB affected areas will be required.
Desirable Requirements Industry experience in building retrofit sector.
Experience in carrying out Building Energy Ratings.
Experience of design, installation and or maintenance of energy efficiency technologies.
Experience with project design and development.
A qualification in project management.
