The successful candidate will work as part of an experienced finance team using an advanced integrated accounting system (Partner for Windows).
This role reports directly to the Director of Finance & Administration and involves a range of financial and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Daily monitoring and reconciliation of client bank accounts, ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Regulations 2014.
Tracking unreconciled receipts and allocating them to the correct files.
Liaising with suppliers, reconciling statements with accounts payable ledgers, and preparing payments for authorisation.
Working closely with the accounts team and fee earners to oversee various aspects of file management, including WIP, outlays, and client ledgers.
Ensuring key financial systems (e.g.
CRO, court fee meter) are reconciled daily to the nominal ledger.
Supporting the Director of Finance & Administration and the accounts team in the firm's day-to-day financial operations.
Assisting with special reports and ad hoc financial tasks as required.
Required Experience & Skills: 1 to 2 years of solid accounting experience (preferably within a professional services environment).
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Strong accounting and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A strong interest in developing a career in finance, particularly within legal accounts.
The Ideal Candidate: Experience in a professional services firm would be an advantage but is not essential.
Highly organised, methodical, and analytical.
Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
Accurate and detail-oriented.
A proactive team player who can also work independently.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
