As Head of SAP Operations, you will be managing the day-to-day operations of SAP systems within the organization, ensuring that they run efficiently, securely, and effectively support the business processes. This role involves leading a team of SAP professionals, coordinating with other stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize SAP performance and »significantly contribute to Deutsche Börse Group overall strategy and shape their way towards establishing Deutsche Börse Group as a top company.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the SAP BASIS operations team, including SAP Basis, ABAP, security, and other SAP-related functions. - Develop and implement strategic plans for SAP operations and Oversee the planning and execution of SAP system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
2. Ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of all SAP systems (e.g., ERP, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, etc.).
3. Lead SAP-related projects, including new implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
4. Monitor system performance metrics and lead initiatives to improve system efficiency and user experience.
5. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and professional development opportunities and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning within the SAP operations team.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies. Maintain proper documentation of SAP systems and processes to support audits and governance requirements.
7. Develop and manage the SAP BASIS operations budget, including forecasting and controlling costs.
8. Optimize resource allocation to ensure effective use of personnel, tools, and technologies.
Your profile:
9. You have completed your university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA preferred
10. Proficiency in written and spoken English
11. 8-10+ years of experience in SAP operations or related roles, with a strong background in SAP system management, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
12. Proven experience in managing complex SAP environments and leading large-scale SAP projects.
13. In-depth knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., ERP, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, ILM, SCM) and SAP Basis.
14. Strong understanding of SAP architecture, infrastructure, and system administration.
15. Familiarity with SAP security, data protection practices, and compliance requirements.
16. Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
17. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate your team as well as your stakeholders and teams of your peers.
18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization from C-Level to individual level on visionary, strategic and technical scope.
19. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a mature level of balance between people management and operational excellence
