Located in Dublin, Cruiserath Biologics Campus, a one billion Multi-Product Cell Culture Biologics Manufacturing facility plays a central role in the Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) network as the company’s first European biologics manufacturing facility. This state of the art facility will produce multiple therapies for the company’s growing biologics portfolio. Global Biologics Laboratory (GBL) responsible for the release testing of Biologics Drug product for the network, is also based on the Cruiserath Biologics Campus.

The Role
BMS Cruiserath Biologics is seeking to recruit a QC Apprentice on a fixed term contract.
The QC Apprentice is responsible for carrying out a number of tasks supporting the Laboratories.
Tasks relating to but not limited to;
1. Ordering and receipt of consumables, reagents and chemicals – Ariba
2. Instrument verification eg pH meters, pipettes and balances
3. Glassware cleaning
4. Solution Preparation
5. Sample management activities eg sample collection, delivery and login
6. Organisation of sample shipments
7. CTU Maintenance -Routine defrosting and cleaning of -80°C, -20°C and 2-8°C CTUs.
8. Execution of QC testing at a level appropriate to experience, training and qualification
9. Liaise with management and technical leads as required to manage the switch over from on site days and college days
10. Respond to unplanned events working with other functions as required
11. Project and continuous improvement activities as required
12. Use BMS Ariba to raise purchase requisition.
13. Receipt of consumables into the QC Laboratories in line with BMS procedural documents
14. Execute instrument performance verification service for selected laboratory equipment including, pH meters, pipettes, balances as per the BMS’s procedural documents
15. Execute glassware cleaning as required and maintain glassware stocks
16. Manage buffer requirements and prepare buffers as required for QC testing login in line with BMS procedural documents
17. Assist with sample collection and sample login in line with BMS procedural documents
18. Liaise with manager to pull together summary at end of working week to hand over tasks for remainder of week.
19. Participate in improvement projects in work practices, equipment, and a safe working environment.
20. Assist colleagues and other functions with tasks – e.g. equipment set-up, sample processing activities.
21. Execute QC testing in line with BMS procedural documents, BMS’s site and regulatory requirements.
22. Ensure the site is always audit ready, house-keeping standards are always adhered to & training completed on time.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:
23. It is desirable that the successful candidate possesses a leaving certificate, or a level 5 qualification in a related field is desirable.
