About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a Laboratory Technician in our Kerry site in Charleville, Co. Cork.
This is a full-time, seasonal role with a 3-cycle shift pattern consisting of 0800-1600/1600-1200/1200-0800 plus a 25% shift allowance.
Working Hours and Site Information
* The hours may change in summer to 12-hour shifts working 4 on 4 off (2 days and 2 nights).
* The Kerry Ingredients site in Charleville has around 140 employees producing articles like skim milk powder for the infant and nutritional sector, functional dairy ingredients for the confectionary industry, and cheese powders for the savoury snack market.
* The site has a canteen and onsite parking and is situated on Kilmallock Road (R515) within 15 minutes' walk from the town centre.
Job Description
You will be responsible for testing and analysing product samples to ensure quality standards are met as a Laboratory Technician in our Powder Lab, within Milk Intake.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analyse raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples across the in-process lab.
2. Carry out all laboratory activities in line with GLP and in-house requirements.
3. Comply with GLP/GMP and safety requirements at all times.
4. Assist with ensuring the laboratory is adequately stocked with consumables necessary to carry out analyses.
5. Record all data relevant to each test, results, and keep records up to date, clear, and legible.
6. Perform basic instrument calibration, maintenance, and completion of associated records.
7. Participate in proficiency testing within scope of laboratory accreditations.
8. Maintain the laboratory in a clean and well-organised status at all times.
9. Participate in audits (internal and external) and inspections.
10. Support site audits as required.
11. Any other duties required to fulfil the role.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. Chemistry or Analytical Lab experience desirable but not essential.
2. Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP.
3. Proven ability to work on your own initiative.
4. Proven ability to work within a quality control function with attention to detail and compliance.
5. Ability to multitask.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Ability to deal with auditors and external parties as required.
