My Client is a leading FMCG Organisation and due to phenomenal growth, they are looking to recruit a Category Analyst for their Team. The right candidate for this role will be an integral part in building, developing and maintaining credible, long-term, category lead relationships with retail partners. In addition, the role will support the NAMs & Sales Team, and the wider Category team and apply category insights and expertise to identify opportunities for them to grow sales and market share.
PURPOSE OF THIS JOB
For this role, you must be comfortable with Excel - strong analytical and excellent interpersonal skills are a must.
Key Requirements
1. Utilize knowledge of customer and Category Management to facilitate the customer business planning process and lead that dialogue with the National Accounts team and the Retailer.
2. Strategically develop customer Category Management business plans that integrate with the customers overall business goals.
Insights
1. Turn insights into actions within retailers by executing, analyzing and evaluating category plans & data.
2. Over time, turn insights into actions for the sales team by identifying key opportunities for the Brand, and educate the sales team on how to capitalize on these opportunities.
3. Provide business analysis and insights of sales, pricing, opportunity gaps for incremental volume.
4. Deliver new item introductions and performance analysis.
5. Provide new product/package mix analysis.
6. Merchandising effectiveness, which includes display and promotion effectiveness.
Data Management
1. Utilize and understand Nielsen, Talysis, market demographic data, customer point-of-sale and loyalty data and systems used to generate the information for category reviews & internal presentations.
2. Database maintenance, ensuring all platforms are updated to reflect latest available information.
Required experience:
Minimum 1-2 years experience, either within Category Management or market research. FMCG experience would be advantageous. Strong Analytical skills (must be comfortable on Excel) and excellent interpersonal skills are a must.
Salary for this position is between 35,000-45,000 plus bonus and they operate off a hybrid work model. (Another attractive aspect is that the targets are fair and attainable - and Team members regularly receive full bonus!)
