POST OF TEMPORARY FULL-TIME STAFF NURSE/ENHANCED NURSE

A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Staff Nurse/Enhanced Nurse appointments within the Children’s Services may be made over the next 6 months.
Location:
This post is primarily located in Crannog Children’s Respite Service. Crannog provides a respite service to children up to 18 years of age who have a wide range of needs including those with Physical disability, complex medical needs, Autism and behavioural needs. Candidates will be required to be completely flexible in this position and will be required to work a variety of hours including day and night duty hours and sleep-ins as required.
The Role:
To support the implementation of children’s individualised developmental and educational programmes and work together with the multidisciplinary and staff teams in ensuring the maximum benefit of the programme for the children. To provide clinical nursing skills in supporting children with complex needs. To demonstrate and maintain the highest quality of nursing practice and apply his/ her skills to ensure the developmental, learning, physical, social, and emotional needs of the children in his/ her care are addressed at all times. Be an informed resource for educating and supporting care assistants and family members.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais). A RNID qualification is highly desirable.
2. Candidates must have a minimum of six months experience of working with children with an Intellectual Disability.
3. A full clean manual Irish Driving Licence (Class B) is desirable for this post.
4. Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
5. Basic IT skills are also desirable.
Working Hours:
75 hours per fortnight based on a 7-day/night duty roster. The successful candidate will be required to work days, evenings, weekends, public holidays and night duty and sleep-ins to meet service needs.
Annual Leave:
24 days per annum. Appropriate service-related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively.
Remuneration:
Department of Health Staff Nurse (01/10/2024) salary scale - €35,919 per annum x 11 increments - €52,294 (Max) per annum. Long Service Increment (LSI) - €53,851 per annum is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
Or
Department of Health Enhanced Nurse (01/10/2024) salary scale - €42,872 per annum x 7 increments - €54,013 (Max) pro rata per annum. Long Service Increment (LSI) €55,594 per annum is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
The successful candidate will be granted incremental credit subject to satisfactory verification of previous relevant nursing service.

The post is temporary, full-time and pensionable linked on a specific purpose basis to a permanent employee’s leave within the Services.
