Ballyfin Demesne is proud to announce that our Executive Head Chef Richard Picard-Edwards has recently been awarded a Michelin Star for our beautiful fine-dining restaurant at Ballyfin.
We now have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and talented Sous Chef to join our dinner service team offering exceptional 5 star produce and an even better culinary guest experience.
This is a full-time role, working 5 days over 7 days, Monday to Sunday.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail. You will assist the Executive Head Chef in providing exceptional food quality, presentation and make a memorable experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
1. With your team, prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard for all food service areas of the hotel.
2. To lead, guide and mentor junior members of staff and assist in their development and knowledge of outstanding food and quality.
3. To ensure the kitchen team are consistently meeting high-quality standards.
4. Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment.
5. To have exceptional attention to detail and assist the Head Chef with menu creation where required.
6. Attend function meetings as required.
7. Deputise in the absence of the Executive Head Chef.
Qualifications
1. 2+ years' of culinary or kitchen experience.
2. Michelin experience is preferred but not essential.
3. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
4. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
