Occupational Therapist My client are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) who will work as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary Childrens Disability Network Team (CDNT) providing high-quality, child and family-centred care to children with complex needs. The OT will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions to support childrens development, independence, and participation in everyday activities. Key Responsibilities of Occupational Therapist Conduct comprehensive assessments of children with complex disabilities to identify their functional abilities and challenges. Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans in collaboration with families and the interdisciplinary team. Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and environmental adaptations. Support children in achieving independence in daily activities, including feeding, dressing, and school-related tasks. Work closely with parents, carers, and educators to provide training and guidance on supporting childrens needs in different environments. Assess the need for and prescribe assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and reports in line with professional and organisational standards. Participate in child and family-centred goal setting and review meetings. Team Collaboration & Professional Development: Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and other professionals. Contribute to team discussions and case reviews to ensure a holistic approach to care. Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) through training, supervision, and reflective practice. Stay updated on best practices, research, and guidelines in paediatric occupational therapy. Supervise and mentor junior therapists, students, and support staff as needed. Service Development & Quality Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of the CDNT service model. Advocate for children and families, promoting a strengths-based and rights-based approach to service delivery. Essential Criteria: A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy approved by CORU. Registration (or eligibility for registration) with CORU. Relevant clinical experience working with children with disabilities and complex needs.
