The Role & What You Will Be Doing
As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you’ll be working as part of the wider EHS Team at our Little Island API manufacturing site, ensuring that the site complies with all environmental requirements.
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Environmental Compliance Specialist role will make an impact:
1. Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the company’s IED license, the greenhouse gas permit (when applicable) and other relevant legislation, and communicate with the EPA and other relevant regulatory bodies.
2. Compile and submit environmental reports, such as AER (Annual Environmental Report) and EPR (Environmental Performance Reporting) to the environmental regulator.
3. Maintain the site EMS (Environmental Management System).
4. Manage the site F-Gas register, fugitive emissions programme as well as its groundwater programme.
5. Ensure communications to regulators and corporate EHS as required and communication of relevant requirements to site functions (e.g. Production & Engineering).
6. Involvement in other site programmes, including DGSA compliance, controlled substance compliance and ensure compliance with REACH regulations (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Registrations, Evaluation, Authorisations and Restrictions of Chemicals).
About Your Skills & Experience
1. Degree in a related discipline, such as Environmental Science, Physical Sciences or Engineering.
2. At least 2-5 years’ experience in an environmental compliance role within a regulated industry, such as API manufacturing, the chemical sector or environmental consulting.
3. Experience in interacting and communicating with environmental regulators.
4. Strong knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation (incl. REACH, DGSA, Controlled Substances, etc.).
5. Experience in compiling AERs (Annual Environmental Reviews).
6. Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach to work.
7. Strong communications skills with an ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
8. Excellent record keeping and attention to detail.
9. Confident self-starter.
