The Data Center (DC) Security Team protects AWS personnel, facilities, and customer information by providing physical security solutions.
As a Security Support Specialist, you will drive operational security excellence within Data Centers while collaborating with partner teams and leaders. Your responsibilities include managing communications, providing services as required, and assisting Data Centre Security Managers in streamlining efficiency. You will also write and implement security processes and procedures. In this role, you will analyze data to extract metrics and observe improvements. A successful candidate must have a proven track record of customer service, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate good judgment and critical thinking.
The ideal candidate for this role can work at all levels, from theoretical knowledge of physical security principles to practical application and real-world implementation of processes and measures. You should have a proven record of accomplishment in operations room/centre dispatching, data centre security operations, physical security, customer service, and the ability to multi-task. Key job responsibilities include managing chat queues, phone communications, generating and/or managing trouble tickets, handling incoming chats, and providing support to customers. You will also drive security awareness campaigns, manage workflow ticketing, configure physical security devices, and support daily operational security across a data centre campus.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day activities and site security operations. 2. Coordinate with operations teams across multiple business units. 3. Provide guidance and leadership across team programs. 4. Build partnerships through networking and innovation. 5. Extract metrics and seek improvements by analyzing data and trends. 6. Verify Data Center security programs meet defined global security standards. 7. Assist in media integrity related programs and activities. 8. Assist in training new and existing personnel on compliance to security policies and procedures. 9. Handle escalations and resolve tasks delegated or assigned to the team. 10. Draft reports and prepare presentations on physical security operations. 11. Collaborate with managers in writing and implementing security policies, processes, and procedures. 12. Serve as a customer advocate by identifying security-related opportunities and crafting innovative solutions. 13. Participate in site audits, inspections, and issue resolution.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 1-5 years experience in operations room/centre. 2. Exposure to Physical Security operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 2+ years working in an operations, physical security, or equivalent environment. 2. 2+ years of experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data. 3. Basic knowledge of physical security systems and their operation. Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year.
