Purpose of the Job
This role provides Process/Quality Engineering support to manufacturing and projects, ensuring delivery of high-quality products to customers. The successful candidate will also assist product development teams in creating high-quality new products.
Main Responsibilities
* Identify manufacturing process defects (scrap, non-conforming material, customer complaints) by dispositioning non-conforming material, identifying primary root causes, and suggesting corrective and preventative actions.
* Assist in developing product quality plans, documents, and systems by providing input to product specifications, quality specifications, quality plans, risk analyses, and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
* Become skilled at using process monitoring systems by identifying critical process steps and applying basic methods to reduce process variation and eliminate defects.
* Assist product/process improvement efforts by gathering quality metric data and analyzing it to enhance sustaining product design and new product development.
* Become skilled at using quality tools and training materials by working with existing quality tools and understanding their evolution and history.
* Participate in validation activities, providing input to protocol/report writing and managing execution of validation activities.
* Participate in corrective and preventive action activity.
* Participate in Field Discrepancy Notification (FDN) investigations.
Education & Competencies
* National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
* Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. General understanding of business unit/group function.
* Works on problems of moderate scope, exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
* Cultivates internal and external networks to facilitate task completion, may lead project teams, and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
* Plans, organizes, and prioritizes daily work routine to meet established schedule.
* Exercises authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action.
