We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the team in Courtnacuddy, Co. Wexford. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Head of Finance by undertaking a variety of accounting responsibilities. Your contributions will be vital in the preparation of monthly management accounts, managing payroll processes, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records.
The successful candidate will have prior experience in a similar role and will be a collaborative team player, willing to take on additional tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3 to 4 years of experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a comparable position
- Part-Qualified Accountant or Accounting Technician designation
- Experience in assisting with the preparation of management accounts
- Proficiency in payroll processing
- Strong numerical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with ERP systems for managing accounts (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger) and inventory (Purchase Orders, Goods Receipts, Warehouse Management System) is advantageous

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts
- Manage month-end closing activities and post month-end journal entries
- Supervise and assist with the accounts payable function, including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), invoice posting, purchase close-offs, supplier reconciliations, and payment runs
- Oversee weekly payroll processing
- Prepare weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports
- Handle Intrastat, VAT, and Companies Registration Office (CRO) filings
- Manage Sales Ledger and bank reconciliation functions
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as required
