About the Role
I am seeking a Software Design Engineer with a strong understanding of power electronics to join a dynamic engineering team. You’ll contribute to the design and development of software for Power Electronics Test Stations, working on Windows-based applications that involve real-time hardware control and instrument integration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain Windows-based software applications.
1. Design and develop core software systems.
2. Real-time control of hardware and instruments.
3. MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class) application development.
2. Participate in full software lifecycle: from concept through release.
3. Ensure software meets performance, cost, and reliability targets.
4. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams.
6. Interface with customers to gather requirements and develop tailored solutions.
7. Participate in internal design reviews.
8. Perform Design Verification Testing (DVT).
9. Create technical documentation and engineering change orders/notices.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in software development.
3. Proficient in C/C++ development on Windows using Visual Studio.
4. Knowledge of Visual Basic.
5. Familiarity with basic electronics and test/measurement equipment control.
6. Strong communication (written & verbal) and team collaboration skills.
7. Ability to produce clear and thorough design documentation.
8. Self-motivated with strong initiative and accountability.
Preferred Experience
1. Instrument control experience (e.g., DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators).
2. Experience with LabVIEW / LabWindows.
3. Familiarity with firmware development at the microprocessor level.
4. Project management skills.
5. Database design and implementation.
6. Experience with Python.
